MPX

É a resposta ao Microsft Surface que vai custar ao publico cerca de 10 000 US Dolares.
O MPX é gratuito e Open-Source vejam as capacidades dele por vocês mesmos!



MPX or Multi-Pointer X is a modification of the X Windows Server that allows multiple input devices to be used at the same time. You only need a normal computer plus any number of keyboards and mice attached to use it. The system lets multiple users interact with one or various applications simultaneously. The software is still in development and there are a ton of bugs to fix according to Peter. However, it will give you a good idea about what you will be able to do.

Things get a lot more interesting when you connect a MPX-enabled Linux system to a Mitsubishi Electric's DiamondTouch display table. Like Microsoft Surface, the DiamondTouch is also a "multi-user, debris-tolerant, touch-and-gesture-activated screen for supporting small group collaboration" surface.

While the DiamondTouch employs a different technology than Microsoft's TouchLight or Han's FITR hardware, the final result is even better because the MPX-DiamondTouch combination actually recognizes four different unique users. Microsoft Surface and Jeff Han's developments allow multiple users to interact with it, but they don't recognize as unique yet.

MPX é gratuito? mas isso é apenas o software, não é? na surface nao pagas 10000 pelo software, pagas o hardware tambem... nao é um comparação correcta.

nao mostra o tamanho do aparelho, mas nao parece ser muito portatil

sendo um produto gratuito está um software muito bom, pode ser comparado ao produto da Perceptive Pixel, mas para a surface ainda falta muito

repara de onde vem a imagem nos filmes que apresentas-te? vem de cima para baixo, deve haver algum projector por cima a mandar a imagem, por isso nao sei qual deles é maior em termos de hardware, qual deles é mais matacao.. nao mostra o hardware total desse produto

(e se realmente precisa de um projector na vertical, nao vai ser facil pendurar na parede e usar)

é uma boa opção ao produto da Perceptive pixel, como ja disse, mas á surface? poe uma maquina digital em cima da superficie ou poe um zune ou um telemovel ou um cartão de credito e vamos ver o que acontece... que interacção terá...


eu penduro a bicicleta na parede mas nao penduro um ferrari, é por isso que a bicicleta é melhor?


a Surface nao foi feita para ser pendurada, mas teimam em querer pendura-la

nao faço ideia do que seja, nao mostram tudo... mas a vantagem disso está no software que é open-source

mas porque é que queres comparar algo que nao tem nada haver? deixa-te disso, mete na cabeça que a surface nao é apenas um computador com sistema touch

nao vez que tipo de projector é, nem em que posição está, logo nao podes avaliar onde o podes colocar

mesmo que possas colocar na parede, nao funciona como a surface, nao faz o que ela faz
