Na manhã a seguir ao lançamento do Windows Vista, Bill Gates foi o convidado do programa Newsweek, apresentado por Steven Levy.
O apresentador fez várias perguntas ao multi-milionário, entre elas algumas sobre as semelhanças entre as funcionalidades do Windows Vista e do MacOSX. E foi nestas perguntas que Bill Gates se "passou" um bocado.
À pergunta "In many of the Vista reviews, even the positive ones, people note that some Vista features are already in the Mac operating system.", Bill Gates respondeu, num tom quase infantil (atenção que não estou a defender nem a criticar ninguém):
"You can go through and look at who showed any of these things first, if you care about the facts. If you just want to say, "Steve Jobs invented the world, and then the rest of us came along," that’s fine."
